A little about the Griffith Fire Department...

The Griffith Fire Department is an all volunteer department comprised of approximately 50 members.  We have a Chief, a Battalion Chief, an Assistant Chief, 3 Captains, and 5 Lieutenants. We operate 3 fire stations that house 3 aerials, 4 pumpers, 3 brush trucks, a special operations vehicle, 1 suburban, and 1 chief’s vehicle.  The Griffith Fire Department responds to approximately 150 calls a year (not including ambulance calls) protecting over 17,000 residents and 300 businesses.  Calls include fully involved structure fires, car fires, dumpster fires, rescue from industrial/commercial locations, and vehicle accidents involving extrication.
